Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

Premiere on 4.12.2010, Staatsschauspiel Dresden

Big Daddy is turning 65, but that's not the only reason why his two sons are returning home with their wives. The real reason is the secret distribution of the inheritance. Big Daddy is very rich and - what nobody tells him - seriously ill. Gooper and Mae, with their five children, feel they have the advantage over Brick and his childless wife Maggie in terms of morals and fertility. But Big Daddy's secret favorite son is Brick, a failed football star who has taken refuge in alcohol since an injury and the suicide of his perhaps all-too-best friend. Brick is the only one not interested either in money or in his wife Maggie, the cat from the play's title, who is fighting for her marriage and her happiness...
